My husband and I had a little pre honeymoon trip to Maui a few weeks ago. It was amazing! We seriously had so much fun. We barely spent any time at our hotel on kaanapali beach because we were too busy exploring the Island the entire time. That’s my best advice I can give you while exploring Hawaii. Don’t waste time lounging at your hotel pool the entire trip. Go explore! We rented a jeep (now I want to buy one) and drove literally the entire Island. I decided to post my dslr photos and iphone photos. Sometimes it wasn’t the best idea to bring the dslr. Like when you hike down a lava cliff and go to the Olivine Pools. Don’t let those links scare you. We thought it was totally safe. Just don’t advise jumping in the ocean there. I think that’s when you may have a problem.
The first thing we did after checking into our hotel was walk outside to the beach. Our hotel was located right on kaanapali beach which is one of my favorite beaches.
The next morning we admired the view from our room
and then set off to do Hana Highway. Our first stop was a waterfall lagoon. Of course we had to jump off it!

On the drive we came across some delicious vegan ice cream. It was exactly like Kippy’s here in Venice.
Next we did the pipiwai trail that takes you to Waimoku falls
After the hike we headed over to the seven sacred pools.

We continued our drive and saw horses. Of course we got out to pet them.
After we visited with the horses we continued our drive and stopped to take sunset photos.
The next day we rented snorkeling gear from our hotel and drove to a popular snorkeling spot. We actually went to where all the $200 snorkel tours take you. (hehe) No dslr photos since we weren’t comfortable leaving it on the beach.

Next stop is the lava pools. Also known as olivine pools. This was one of our favorite things we did in Maui. We hiked down a lava cliff and swam in holes made by the lava. It was pretty magical!

We saw little waterfalls wayyyyy down a cliff and pulled over. We found a trail to get down there and we were the only people there. I don’t think tourists know about it. So amazing to have our own private lagoon with rope swing!

The next day we did the drive to Haleakala
After freezing, altitude sickness (lol) Haleakala, we went to my favorite Maui beach. Makena beach. We kept the dslr safely hidden away in our bag so we don’t have any dslr photos from there but here are the iphone photos:
First stop was to get my coconut
I will leave you with what happens when you try to take a selfie and a wave comes…
Here is a quick little video I made! I know it looks like old VHS movies hahaha but it was my first time making a video.
